Troop 911 Committee Member, Sherry Wolf, saw smoke and sprung into action.

Driving through Blackstone, Virginia, Wolf caught a glimpse of black smoke coming from the top of an apartment complex. The roof that was on fire was connected to 6 to 8 units in the complex.

She quickly made her way to the area, got out of her car and started knocking on doors.

“My concern was getting people out. I’m glad to help save a life,” Wolf said.

After alerting everyone she could, she waited with the residents until the first responders arrived.

Wolf said, “It’s rare that you’re in the right place at the right time,” but in this circumstance, she was exactly where she needed to be to make a difference in all those peoples’ lives.

It was later discovered that the cause of the fire was a candle left burning in one of the resident’s home.
