Need More Scouts?!?
Every fall, the Heart of Virginia Council conducts a Join Scouting Night (JSN) Campaign to invite new families to join packs, troops, crews, and posts. This fall we will again hold a JSN campaign, primarily utilizing promotions efforts through local schools.
However, your den, pack, or troop can hold additional recruiting events that leverage social media and word-of-mouth marketing to invite new families out to one or more of the fun activities that your unit is already doing. In fact, we’ve created a guide to help Cub and Scouts BSA leaders hold such a recruitment event, available here. We are asking every pack and troop to hold a Pack or Troop Driven Recruitment Event, and there are prizes your unit can win by doing so. To get started, please complete the Recruiting Event Planning Worksheet available here, and send it to your District Executive.
