2022 Eagle Scout Commencement
On Sunday, February 19th, Heart of Virginia Council hosted the 2022 Eagle Scout Commencement at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. The Blackwell Auditorium was filled with nearly 70 of our almost 220 Scouts who earned the rank of Eagle in 2022, countless proud family members and Scoutmasters, and members of our HOVC Scouting community, who gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the distinguished young men and women who were welcomed into the Eagle’s Nest in the last year. Jerry Coiley, Scoutmaster with Troop 897, was our 2022 Eagle Class Honoree, and Chuck Sullivan received the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award. We also celebrated Michael Knoeller, Eagle with Troop 360, who earned the Glenn and Melinda Adams National Eagle Scout Project of the Year Award.
Special congratulations to our 2022 Glenn and Melinda Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award Nominees: Dustin Brown, Joseph Mullin, Loknath Sasikumar, Luke Dazsi, Maggie McCray, Michael Knoeller, Matthew Snow, and Thomas Carden.
We would like to thank Robert Patterson, RMC’s Senior Director of Institutional Partnerships, for the warm welcome, and Bruce Leaman for serving, once again, as our master of ceremonies. Special thanks to those Life Scouts who served in our Honor Guard, and to those Scouters who gave of their time and talents to serve as members of the Eagle Commencement Committee.
