Happy National Space Day – May 6th

Here in the United States, we’re celebrating National Space Day today! This is a holiday aimed at promoting STEM among young people… like our super, science-loving Scouts.

? Have you ever worked on a STEM Nova Award module and earned your patch and Pi device? Space Day is the perfect day to start your “Out of this World” module, which is built specifically to help you discover the wonders of space. This series of activities will have you looking up at the sky, marveling over how small (but mighty) we are!  View the module requirements, and please reach out to the Council Leadership Center to find a Nova Counselor to help you on this adventure.

?‍? Scouts have special place in space exploration! Scouting Magazine spotlights the connection between us and the farthest reaches of the universe. Did you know that at least 2/3 of the pilots and scientists selected as astronauts since 1959 have been Scouts?  Watch the video (YouTube).
