NYLT, or National Youth Leadership Training, is a week-long Leadership course that focuses on the development of Scouts. During this course you will be put into a patrol and learn how to become a great leader by developing skills in communication, teambuilding, teaching, planning, evaluating, conflict management, and the making of ethical decisions (just to name a few of the MANY relevant skills taught at NYLT).
NYLT’s goal is fun with a purpose. This training uses games and hands on experience to teach relevant skills while also being fun! Friendly competition between patrols is common and we have prizes to encourage Scouts with good sportsmanship.
National Youth Leadership Training is youth led and adult guided! This means the youth are in charge of program, planning, and execution, while the adults are present to assist when needed and ensure the safety of all participants.
The next course for the Heart of Virginia Council starts on June 19th and goes through June 25th, 2022 at T Brady Saunders.
