Honoring Our Veterans, November 11th, 2022

This Veterans Day, Heart of Virginia Council is proud to fulfil its Duty to Country with a special photo album honoring the Veterans in our Scouting community.

We all know a special service member who should be celebrated this November 11th.  Please send your photos (along with their name, title, branch of service, and other information they would like shared) to rebekah.nyalko@scouting.org to be included in this special tribute to their incredible service.

All of us here at Heart of Virginia Council thank our Veterans from the bottom of our hearts for their service to our nation.

Paul Willard, Major, USAF

Rivers District Unit Commissioner.
Recipient of the 2021 Brewer Aerospace Award.

David Allen Veterans Day
David Allen, Sargent First Class, US Army Reserve

23 Years of Service with multiple tours to the Middle East.
His sons are Cub Scouts in Pack 521.

Jared Groves Veterans Day
Jared Groves, Gunnery Sergeant, USMC

Jared is set to retire July 31st, 2023!
He is the proud Cubmaster for Pack 101.

Michael Menefee Sr Veterans Day
Michael R. Menefee, Sr., Chief Warrant Officer 3

Served in the US Army from 1969 to 1990.
Served overseas assignments in Greece and Egypt as Property Manager.  Retired in 1990 as a chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3).
