Congratulations to Adams Award Winner, Taylor C.
The Glenn and Melinda Adams Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award recognizes a service project of an exceptional nature by a Scout to a religious institution, a school, community, or other entity. Each year, local councils select a council-level winner, and from that pool, each service territory selects a territory-level winner. A national winner is then selected from the 16 territory finalists.

It is with great pride we announce the 2025 Glenn and Melinda Adams Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award winner, Taylor C. with Troop 736.
Henrico County Animal Shelter had a growing need for enrichment structures to improve the physical and mental well-being of the animals in their care, as well as outdoor housing solutions for feral cats in the community. Taylor C. saw this as an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. She planned, led, and oversaw the construction of two elevated dog agility ramps, six large decorative animal fence displays, and four insulated feral cat homes to support the shelter’s mission. To fund the project, Taylor organized multiple fundraising efforts, including selling handmade crocheted pumpkins, launching a GoFundMe campaign, and securing donations from family and friends. She successfully raised more than $1,100 and coordinated over 330 hours of planning and execution with youth and adult volunteers. Despite challenging weather conditions, including heavy rain and a tornado warning during installation, Taylor demonstrated resilience and leadership to ensure the project was completed safely and successfully.
In recognition of her outstanding work, Taylor has been selected for the Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award at the Council Level. Her project will now be submitted to the National Eagle Scout Association for consideration alongside other Council winners from Territory 15.
Congratulations, Taylor, on this exceptional achievement and for the lasting difference you have made in our community!
