James E. West Fellowship

The James E. West Fellowship Award recognizes individuals, foundations and corporations that make a significant gift – in cash, stock or other property – to the Endowment Fund of the Heart of Virginia Council, Boy Scouts of America. You can also use the award to honor someone special in your life or your organization —such as in honor of an Eagle Scout, Silver Beaver recipient, a retirement, a special accomplishment or anniversary—or in memory of a special individual.

  • $5,000+ Silver Member Level
  • $10,000+ Gold Member Level
  • $15,000+ Diamond Member Level

Scouting Heritage Society

The Scouting Heritage Society recognizes donors that make a gift commitment of $25,000 or more by including the Heart of Virginia Council in their estate’s plans.  Since only a percentage of the earnings from a direct gift to the Endowment Fund can be used, a gift will support and give life to Scouting in perpetuity.

Examples of gifts that can be made include:

  • gifts of cash
  • gifts of real estate
  • gifts of annuity
  • gifts of life insurance
  • gifts of stock
  • a bequest in a will
  • a pooled income fund gift

Good Turn Society

All donors with new gifts of at least $25,000 are eligible for induction into the Good Turn Society at their lifetime cumulative giving level. Good Turn Society members exemplify all that is most admirable about Scouting, including a commitment to service above self, a drive to go above and beyond to achieve an important goal, a willingness to be a model for others, and the courage to demonstrate leadership through their investment in Scouting.

Good Turn Society members are truly Scouting’s heroes. Honor their commitment to train the future leaders of America with formal induction into the appropriate Good Turn Society level. Based on membership level, benefits can include a personalized proclamation, lapel pin, challenge coin, medallion, and exclusive event access.
