Pinewood Derby Workshop

Ready to build the coolest Pinewood Derby Car ever? Don’t have the right tools? No problem! The Scout Shop has got you covered with our Pinewood Derby Workshop! Bring your car kit, and we’ll help you bring your design to life with a custom cutout. Want to add some personal flair? Bring your own decorations, or pick up awesome decals in the Shop! We’ll even have paint ready for you to make your car stand out on race day.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service Emblem

Scouting America is proud to announce the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service emblem, designed to commemorate participation in the MLK National Day of Service. The MLK Day of Service emblem is not an award. Instead, it is a seasonal emblem to recognize Scouts who participate in MLK Day service projects, and to encourage Scouts who haven’t to do so in the future.

Scout Sunday is a cherished tradition that highlights the connection between Scouting and faith communities. This annual event invites Scouts to demonstrate their reverence, a key point of the Scout Law, by participating in services at their places of worship. Whether by wearing their uniforms, assisting with worship activities, or sharing their Scouting experiences, Scouts showcase their commitment to duty to God and service to others.
Custom Unit Number Patches
Now you can order custom unit number patches with no minimum required—even just one! If you prefer the clean look of a single patch on your uniform or want to skip sewing multiple individual number patches, we’ve got you covered. Contact the Scout Shop at scoutshophovc@scouting.org or 804-204-2628 to place your order. No time to sew? Bring your shirt, patches, or merit badges and sash to the Scout Shop, and we’ll handle it for you!

Scout Shop Customer File Update (PDF)
Key 3 can easily add or remove unit leadership from their Scout Shop Customer File. Individuals listed on this document are able to make purchases on behalf of the unit, utilizing funds in that unit’s Scout Shop account. Consider including a review of your Customer File during your annual program planning sessions. When changes are necessary, simply print and sign this form and return it to the Scout Shop.

Patch Sewing
Save Time with the Scout Shop Patch Sewing Service
The Heart of Virginia Council Scout Shop, located in the Leadership Center at 8090 Villa Park Drive, is offering a Patch Sewing Service to save you some time and frustration (especially if you don’t own a sewing machine and the thought of hand stitching or using Badge Magic on those patches makes you shudder). We will sew any patches to your uniform or merit badge sash.
Patch Sewing Service Options
- Order a new uniform shirt with the Heart of Virginia Council shoulder patch, World Crest Emblem, and World Crest Ring pre-sewn for your convenience.
- Youth tan short-sleeved shirt: $58.60
- Adult tan short-sleeved shirt: $69.10
- Cub Scout blue short-sleeved shirt: $52.10
- Request additional patches, such as Unit Numerals, Badges of Office, and even Merit Badge patches for $3.50 per patch.
How to Order
- Visit us at 8090 Villa Park Drive! You can bring your uniform shirt (or purchase a brand-new shirt) and we’ll add the patches of your choice for you,
- Call the Scout Shop at (804) 204-2638 and place your order. We will get right to work and have your order:
- available for you to pick-up at the Scout Shop, or
- shipped to your address (you pay shipping)
- Use the Heart of Virginia Council’s Online Scout Shop to place your order. We’ll get right to work and have your order:
