National Jamboree

2026 National Jamboree | July 22–31, 2026

Scouting’s flagship event is one-of-a-kind. It’s a gathering of approximately 30,000 Scouts, leaders, and staff that showcases everything that is great about the BSA and its members. Held every four years, the Jamboree is an amazing opportunity for participants, volunteers, and visitors to experience the best of Scouting, all in one place. Features include; one of the longest zip line courses in North America, a world-class skate park, ATV offerings, treetop canopy tours, rock climbing, patch trading, stadium shows, and much more!

The 2026 National Jamboree is open to Scouts BSA, Venturing, Explorer, and Sea Scouts, 12 and up!

National Jamboree Details

PLEASE NOTE: the details below have not been updated for the 2026 National Jamboree.  The Heart of Virginia Council Jamboree Committee is working diligently to plan for the 2026 event, and will share news and updates here as it becomes available.

The registration process is completed online in two locations: the National Jamboree Website, and then the Council Jamboree Payment System. 

  1. Please be sure to first create an account at https://my.scouting.org/ for your Scout and for yourself (each Scout must have a parent/guardian that also has a my.scouting account for Youth Protection and legal waiver purposes).
  2. The next step is to register online at https://jamboree.scouting.org/. Be sure to log in using the my.scouting account for the registrant (e.g., your Scout). The deadline to register is February 21!
  3. Once registered, an email will be sent to the registrant (and to the parent, if the registrant is under 18 years of age).
  4. In this email message will be a link to complete the required disclaimer/release/waiver statements. For registrants under 18 years of age, this email will be sent to the parent/guardian, and this person must click the link in the email and login with their my.scouting account (not the Scout’s account) to complete the entire form.
  5. Once the disclaimer/release/waiver statements have been completed, a notification will be sent to the council for approval.
  6. Once the council has approved the application, we will send via email the link to make payments. The council staff plans to review/approve Jamboree applications at least weekly.

he cost to attend the 2023 National Jamboree is $2,200†.  What is included?

  • National Jamboree Fee – $1,285
  • Transportation to and from Jamboree in a tour bus
  • Jamboree patch
  • Contingent SWAG
  • Contingent shakedown weekend food & activities

Troops may also elect to create their own SWAG for additional cost.

Payments are due by the dates listed, but participants may pay in advance.

†Cost increased by $250 ($2,200 total) for registrations after October 25 due to increased National fees and associated costs.

Any payments made by credit/debit card will have a 3% surcharge added.  Payments can be made by cash or check in person at the Council Leadership Center or check payments can be made by mail.

  • Scouts attending via Contingent units of 36 Scouts will be formed by the Heart of Virginia Council Jamboree Committee.
  • Those Contingent units will prepare, travel and camp together.
  • MUST have a current BSA membership with a Scouts BSA Troop
  • MUST be at least 12 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree (July 19, 2023) and not reached their 21st birthday by the last day of the Jamboree (July 28, 2023)
  • If the participant is over 18, MUST be current with Youth Protection Training
  • Be approved by the unit leader and the Heart of Virginia Council
  • MUST have appropriate parent/guardian to complete the online parental consent
  • Participtae in pre-Jamboree training experience with local Council and unit leader
  • Submitted BSA Annual Health & Medical Record using the online Jamboree submission process.  The AHMR must be dated on or after July 1, 2022
  • Submit all registrations fees per the HOVC’s payment schedule
  • MUST have a current BSA membership in a local Council unit
  • MUST be at least 21 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree (July 19, 2023), regardless of assigned position
  • MUST be approved by the Heart of Virginia Council
  • Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster MUST currently be serving in any unit leadership position
  • Scoutmaster applicants MUST have completed appropriate leader-specific training
  • All adults MUST be current with Youth Protection Training
  • All adults MUST register online through the Jamboree registration sytsem as a “Leader.”  The Council will designated specific leaderhsip positions at the time the Jamboree units are assigned
  • Participate nad assist in planning the pre-Jamboree training experience with Council
  • The Unit Care Provider MUST be one of the unit leaders (SM or ASM) and is required to hold either current Wilderness First Aid and CPR certificates OR a current healthcare license (MD, DO, APRN, RN, PA, Paramedic, EMT).  This unit leader’s responsibilities include providing for the safety and well-being of each unit member by a) reviewing their AHMR and maintaining a binder / file containing all of the unit’s AHMRs, b) maintaining the Unit First Aid Kit and providing first aid treatment within the unit, and c) overseeing administration of required medications
  • Submitted BSA Annual Health & Medical Record using the online Jamboree submissio process.  The AHMR muts be dated on or after July 1, 2022
  • Submit all registration fees per the HOVC’s payment schedule
