In 1982, Lee excitedly joined Pack 544 at his very first Cub Scout Summer Camp.

Hi, Parents and Guardians! Come join the adventure! We know you’re busy, but we would like to invite you to join us at your child’s school to learn about Cub Scouting. We’ll talk about how character development, good citizenship, friendly service to others, sportsmanship, fitness, personal achievement, leadership, fun, and (of course) adventure can help your child learn meaningful skills that will benefit them their whole lives through. You might have heard about classic Cub Scout events like the Pinewood Derby and Raingutter Regatta; but did you know that Scouts in the Heart of Virginia Council collect tens of thousands of pounds of food for Feed More annually? Or that we construct Little Libraries for our communities, participate in the annual Scouts Trash the Trash effort to keep our local parks and public spaces clean, and send letters and care packages to military and service workers? We go hiking, fishing, Geocaching, and camping at our local world-class Scout Reservations, learn how to keep ourselves healthy and strong, contribute to the success of our families, grow in our spirituality, and make positive choices. When was the last time you built a robot, racecar, campfire, or family bond? We could go on, but we’d rather tell you all about local Cub Scouting in person.
Visit us at our Join Scouting Night where we’ll introduce you to your local Cub Scout Packs and their programs, answer your questions, and register new Scouts. Come meet us and your future friends and family at the date, time, and place on the front of this flyer. Can’t attend? No problem. You can reach out to the Cubmaster for more details or register online at BeAScout.org.
On my honor I will do my best
to do my duty to God and my country,
and to obey the Scout Law;
to help other people at all times;
and to keep myself physically fit,
mentally awake, and morally straight.
A Scout Is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
The Heart of Virginia Council’s Scouting programs are all about giving families amazing experiences in the great outdoors. We know how important it is for your family to unplug from your devices, take a stroll in the forest, reconnect with nature and each other, and end the day roasting marshmallows by the campfire. Visit CubAdventureCamp.net to learn more about our Tiger & Lion Rally and Creepy Hollow camps this fall where we’ll build…
