Introducing Matt Henke, Growth Executive
We’re excited to introduce Matt Henke, our new Growth Executive, bringing more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership to the Heart of Virginia Council! Matt has a proven track record of securing major gifts, strengthening community partnerships, and driving mission-focused growth across Virginia.
Throughout his career, Matt has:
Led multimillion-dollar fundraising and endowment campaigns Doubled revenue and revitalized nonprofit programs Built strong donor pipelines and expanded organizational visibility Directed large-scale operations, including launching a $30M recreation centerHis experience includes leadership roles with the YMCA, Backpacks of Love, the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads, and more. Matt is known for his strategic vision, relationship-building skills, and passion for serving youth and families.
So what will Matt be doing as our new Growth Executive? In his new role, Matt will lead membership growth across central Virginia, building strong partnerships with schools, churches, and community organizations to help more families discover Scouting. He’ll support units with recruitment, track and analyze membership trends, and strengthen relationships with our chartered partners.
Simply put, Matt will help open new doors for youth and families to experience the adventure, leadership, and community that Scouting provides, and we’re thrilled to have his expertise guiding this important work.
