In Memory of Cindy Hunt Morris
Donations made in memory of Cindy, a long-time and beloved Scouter in and around Powhatan County, the Huguenot Trail District, and the Heart of Virginia Council, will benefit Huguenot Trail Friends of Scouting. Your generous support makes the adventure of Scouting possible for the youth of Central Virginia, fostering the program to which Cindy so exceptionally and selflessly gave so much of her time.

Cynthia (Cindy) Hunt Morris
March 14, 1964 to May 7, 2023
It is profound sadness that I report that Cindy Hunt Morris (59) has gone home. Cindy was a long-time fixture in Scouting in and around Powhatan County and the Huguenot Trail District having been active with Pack/Troop/Crew/Ship 832 at St. John Newmann Catholic Church. She was inducted into the Order on her birthday in March 2009 and sealed her membership in the Brotherhood a year later. Cindy enjoyed working with the youth in the Dance Team, and in 2013 she sat the Vigil and was named Gentgeen Pupukwesh (Dancing Bobwhite).
For years, Cindy had an impact on the lives of most Scouts and Scouters in the Heart of Virginia Council as a front office employee at the Council Service Center and coordinator for the registration system used by summer camps, day camps, camporees, etc. Everyone in the Heart of Virginia Council and especially those within Nawakwa Lodge will miss Cindy Morris, but we should take comfort that her struggles have ended and she has indeed gone home. Finally, please keep Cindy’s family, especially husband Jeff and sons Brenton and Logan, in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
