2. Creating opportunities for youth to Join a) packs need to prepare for Join Scouting Nights, all districts will be conducting a training the morning of Saturday August 21st b) troops and crews should be planning open houses for September or October especially for 6th and 9th graders respectively.
3. Participating in the Trails End Popcorn sale. A ready-made unit fundraiser with new Unit Kickoff kits available. Participating and interested units need to attend and EXPLOSION on August 17th at Chester Presbyterian Church or August 19th at Dominion Virginia Power’s Technical Center at Innsbrook. See the council website calendar for more information.
4. Summer camp/adventure plans for 2011 and beyond. Promote Cub & Webelos Adventure Camp and Camp T. Brady Saunders. If a unit hasn’t been to CBS in a while they are missing out on a great staff, great program, an expanded COPE course, new shower houses, a new dock, an air conditioned dining hall and great food. www.bradysaunders.net
5. A new national website www.BeAScout.org will be launched publicly July 23rd with unit pins to a Google Map. Units can edit their contact information through www.MyScouting.org.
