The great outdoors, that’s what scouting promises. As a Boy Scout, you can learn how to camp and hike without leaving a
trace and how to take care of the land. You’ll study wildlife up close and learn about nature all around you. There are plenty of skills for you to master, and you can teach others what you have learned.
You may join Boy Scouts by earning the Arrow of Light Award or having completed the fifth grade. As long as you are 10, but not yet 18 years old, you may become a Boy Scout. The program achieves the BSA’s objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness through activities and award systems that are fun and informative. You join a Boy Scout Troop chartered to a local organization near you and your adventure begins.
Parents, you can learn what other parents have to say about Scouting at http://www.scoutparents.org/.
