		<description>From our internal Troop email:
Greetings Troop! Many of you may recall that Geordon was approached some time ago by Debbie Mickle, producer for Public Broadcasting System, Science Matters. Mrs. Mickle wanted to film and interview Geordon for a new PBS series. Events unfolded that placed Geordon and his Eagle tree planting project front and center of a new and very exciting PBS web magazine titled “Science Matters”. Geordon’s project can be found by selecting “Green Kids” on this web site. http://ideastations.org/sciencematters

In fact, Geordon’s project was selected as the cover story on the Green Kids page over many other stories. I’ve been in contact with Mrs. Mickle as the site has undergone testing and made ready for the big release!! That day is here!

Surprisingly, Mr. Diming found the link on Facebook and shared it with our Troop. Thank you Mr. Diming!!

But there is much more to this story! Geordon’s project is featured as what a young man who cares about the environment can do to make things better. He used his scientific knowledge and resources to tackle a technical problem with a wonderful solution. That is where Science Matters come in. The science of our world is going on around us everywhere. Don’t take my word for it!

I challenge you to explore this site http://ideastations.org/sciencematters. Find out about nanotechnology, glowing rocks, robots, mummy secrets, and what in the world is a seed bomb??

Older scouts, I know what you’re thinking….this is a middle school thing. Check that again….the professional careers on display as part of these videos and information are awesome. The mummy secret one alone is worth a look. And you really should know about the Rice Center and check out “Water Matters”.

Scouts explore our world. That’s what we do. Here’s a chance to do some quality exploring without moving from your computer.

Nice Job Geordon!!!

See you soon!
