Located on Kerr Reservoir (Buggs Island Lake) in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, Eagle Point is a short-term camping facility. It is used by individual units and districts for camporees. This beautiful piece of property is about 120 acres over three peninsulas and is leased from the Army Corps of Engineers. There is a boat ramp just outside the property but no drinking water source so units must provide their own drinking water. It is primitive in nature with only pit latrines. Some troops have used it as a week long camp because of its beauty and location on those finger-shaped points that jut out into Kerr Reservoir. Troops that do that must contact the Mecklenburg County Health Department and review how they will prepare meals and control sanitation before long-term camping will be permitted. This camp is basically a wilderness short-term camp.
