NEW FOR 2018 – Professional Leadership Certificate

Heart of Virginia Council in conjunction with its annual Commissioners’ College is offering a Professional Leadership Certificate. This certificate is available to all registered BSA adult leaders. All classes are a part of the Commissioner College program and can be used to meet the requirements of future awards through the college. Classes include a variety of topics including Practical Solutions to Common Unit Needs, Serving Scouts with Disabilities, Webelos to Scout Transition and much more.

If you have just completed a tour as a Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, or any other adult Scouter position and want to continue to service Scouting in a different capacity, consider becoming a Unit Commissioner. A Unit Commissioner normally supports one to three units and draws on their experiences to help new leaders provide the Scouting program to their unit. Unit Commissioners are the “behind-the-scene” support that ALL units need.
